Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'.. keep that Breven rollin'

So Breven rolled over today! It wasn't a fluke because he has been doing it over and over again. I laid him on his stomach for some "tummy time" and I went to check my email, when I came back he was on his back! I am super excited for this so I took a quick video so you all can see. Hope you enjoy! I will post again when I have more time to type what's been going on!

Party Animal

Yesterday we celebrated Great Grandma Myrna's 70th birthday, and boy did we have fun! We got to see a lot of relatives and eat good food. We spent the whole day outside and by the time we left Breven was exhausted! He slept from 7:00 last night to 11:00 this morning only getting up to eat, and he went back to bed at 11:30 and has yet to wake up. I only took a couple of pictures because I was busy visiting, but here is what I have...

Great Grandpa Dean was the first to hold him when we arrived. Breven was wearing a one of a kind shirt that got laughs from the whole family!

True statement!

Jolene brought Cole to the party too! He is doing really well and we were excited to meet him. This is Breven's only cousin (so far) on my side of the family, and he is also a Great Grandson!!!

Here we are... our first picture with the boys together! We are looking forward to many more play dates together!

I took some video too, but I dont know how to post that to the blog. I will have to wait for Matt to get home to see if he can figure it out. We are looking forward to the next family gathering and hope to get in at least one more before it gets cold.

On another note, today is mine and Matt's 1 year anniversary! One year down and a life time to go. It is amazing how much your life can change in one year. I have to say it has been both the best year and the worst year of my life all rolled into one big whirlwind! I am so thankful for my family, my husband, my son, and all that God has given us. I miss Mom (Grandma Lynn) terribly and spend time every day telling Breven about her. We get through it though, one day at a time. I am going into this next year with optimism and can not wait to see what it will bring!

Water fight...

Wow, a lot has happened since the last post. Last Friday we had Eddy, Erica, Josh and Lisa come up to visit. We ended up having a bonfire which was really great because we haven't had many at all this summer. On Sunday Matt's family came up for the day and we had a BLAST! We filled a couple hundred water balloons and got in a huge water fight. We had so much fun that we forgot to take pictures.. it always seems to work out that way. Monday I brought Breven back into the doctor to get his shots and surprisingly he only let out one cry. They weighed him again and he was up to 11 pounds 4 ounces. He has been running a fever from getting the shots, so the last couple of days the only thing he wants to do is be held. It gets kind of tiring, but honestly I love being able to just hold him and cuddle all day. That brings us to today, and I am hoping to be able to get him outside for a while if it isn't too warm and if he is feeling better.

I love puppies!

He likes to play with his tongue

The dogs don't leave his side

Breven's first time is his jumper

So much fun stuff to look at.

There is one slight problem.. he needs to weigh a little more

I LOVE MY DADDY!

What you lookin' at?

Attacka of the Alpaca

So here is one of our newest arrivals. So far we have 6 alpacas and 1 llama. We will be getting 18 more alpacas this weekend (I think). There is only 1 llama because she is there to protect the alpacas from any danger. You can see her in the picture below, she is the one with the white head.

They are loving all of the grass in the field. Usually they only get hay fed, so for them to have grass and clover that is still alive is a BIG treat!

These are the 6 females that we have right now.

So last weekend we went to Brainerd for Matt's cousin's wedding. We stayed at a really nice resort (Good Ol' Days Resort) where we could walk right from our room down to the lake. Unfortunately we only spent one night there, but plan on returning for a longer stay sometime in the future. We had a really good time and it was nice for Matt's family to be able to meet Breven. He slept the entire time we were at the reception, through the music and all!
Breven had his 2 month check up on Monday and he is now 10 pounds 13 ounces and 22 1/4 inches long. He was supposed to get his shots, but he was only 56 days old and he has to be at least 60 days old before he can get his shots, so we will be going back next week. The doctor said that he is doing really well and is doing things that babies his age don't usually do. He is able to hold his head up when you put him in a sitting position by pulling him up by his arms. He is also really close to being able to roll over which they usually do at 4 months old. Other than the shots his next appointment will be when he is 4 months old. Here are a couple of pictures of him in his new outfit...

I love his smile!
He just woke up from his nap and is crying so we will post again very soon!

Home sweet ... zoo?

Yup, that's right ... more animals. We have 4 dogs, 3 cats, and coming soon ... 24 ALPACAS! Sometimes I think that we are half crazy! We were approached by our neighbor's renter asking us if we would lease out some of our land for her to keep her alpacas on. After a talk with our insurance agent we have decided to go for it. They have not arrived yet, but we will be sure to post some pictures once they come. They are supposed to be really people friendly and she said that they are good with kids, so we are excited to have that experience.

I spoke with Jolene today and she said that Cole is making good progress. He is now eating from a bottle and gaining weight. They still don't know when he will be coming home, but we are anxiously awaiting his homecoming!

Breven is changing so much every day it is just mind blowing! He is talking a lot and likes telling Mom and Dad "stories". I put up some pictures of a few of his new faces for you guys to see. He is just so ADORABLE!

Innocent look

Sooo sad!

Daddy is super funny!

Sucking on the bottom lip

I dont know what kind of a look this is, but I think it's pretty funny!

And here is one of our zoo exhibits that I think is just too cute. Jake is waiting for Matt to come home from work. How he can fit his body on that chair amazes me!

We will keep you updated, and we are going to try to get some video of Breven's faces and coos posted to the blog. We just need to capture the right moment on video first!

Two is trouble..

Now there is a second addition to the newest generation of Lauderbaughs... watch out world!
So I spoke too soon about Jolene, the night of my last blog post her water broke! OOPS! She gave birth to a HANDSOME baby boy on July 30th at 2:29am 4lbs 8ounces and 18 1/2 inches long. She was only 34 weeks, so he is a big boy for how early he was. His name is Cole Michael. I went to the hospital yesterday and saw Jolene and she looks great! We didn't go and visit Cole, but we got to watch him on the TV in Jolene's room. He has a TON of hair and looks like his daddy. As soon as I get some pictures I will put them up for you guys to see.

Breven has been doing really well and he has been sleeping at least 8 hours per night for the past 5 nights. I am so thankful for that! We had a long day yesterday driving down to the cities to see Jolene, then we stopped at my work to show him off a little bit. We didn't get home until after 10 last night, which now days is late for us. We are looking forward to spending some time getting to know Cole this summer and will post again soon.
